  • I recently went to Pet Supermarket and bought 2 cans of Blue Buffalo Tender Turkey and Chicken Entrée.  I have heard wonderful things about Blue Buffalo and decided to give the canned food a try.  The 5.5 ounce can cost about $1.39 regularly but it was 10 cents off.  That seems a little expensive for me, but if it is good for my cats, I would spend a little extra.

My foster kittens, Chico, devoured one of the cans.  He LOVED it!  I noticed afterwards, he had more energy, not like he needs any more energy though!

I then gave the other can to my 10 year old cat Buffy.  She is a picky eater and she decided to not eat it at all.  She has always been a picky eater, but I was surprised.  Since Blue Buffalo is more expensive, I thought that it would be better tasting.  Eventually Buffy came around and ate a little bit.  I think she was just nervous because I was watching her eat.

I asked some of my cat lover friends and they said that none of their cats liked Blue Buffalo's canned food.

I took a look at the ingredient list and was pleasantly surprised.  The first five ingredients are turkey, chicken broth, chicken, chicken liver, and carrots.  I LOVE those ingredients because they are so good for your cats.  High quality protein is the first ingredient!  I could not be happier with the ingredients!

  • I think that because Blue Buffalo is so good and healthy for cats, that it may not taste as good as cheap canned food.  I does not contain the nasty, artificial flavoring as many other cat foods do.  Therefore, you have to slowly introduce it to your cats.  Little by little, your cats should come around and eat it.  I encourage EVERYONE to try Blue Buffalo because it is so full of nutrients for your cats.  Kittens and senior cats especially need extra nutrients, so Blue Buffalo is the way to go.
